Update: Emails to Microsoft and Yahoo Hosted Mailboxes

03 September 2019, in Shared Hosting

Mail is now being delivered to Microsoft and Yahoo Hosted Mailboxes.

Microsoft contacted us late yesterday to say they have made changes to allow emails from our mail servers to be delivered to Microsoft Hosted Mailboxes unimpeded.

Email to Yahoo is now being delivered without delay, but they are presently classing mail from our mail servers as 'Bulk-Email'. Depending on the recipients settings this could mean that emails end up in Spam Folders.

The changes made to cleanup the type of email from our mail servers should mean that this classification will be removed once our sending reputation improves. We have also contacted Yahoo to see if they can expedite this process.

Yahoo Hosted Email Services include;

Yahoo.com
Yahoo.co.uk
AOL.com
Sky.com
BT Yahoo
Verizon.com
Netscape.com

We would like to apologise to customers.

Catch-All Email Addresses Disabled

02 September 2019, in Shared Hosting

Many you are aware of the problems with sending emails from our mail servers over the past month.

Many of the big free Mail providers are looking to stop spam emails relayed by email forwarding from other providers. This is affecting web hosting companies severely with some of the worlds largest web hosts being blacklisted over the last month.

We need to make the following changes to clean up the emails being sent from our mail servers.

Catch-all email address are bad practice as these are magnets for spam. If the emails are forwarded to another provider, then any that are spam are seen as coming from our mail servers.

Regretfully, Catch-All email address have been disabled to clean up the email from our mail servers and improve their reputation as not being a source of spam.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused by these changes and hope to have mail sending service to other providers restored as soon as possible.

Mail Forwarding from Websites

02 September 2019, in Shared Hosting

Many you are aware of the problems with sending emails over the past month.

Many of the big free Mail providers are looking to stop spam emails relayed by email forwarding from other providers. This is affecting web hosting companies severely with some of the worlds largest web hosts being blacklisted over the last month.

When web developers set up websites for customers for convenience, it is often simpler to have the websites forward emails on to the customers existing mailbox with another provider.

The "contact us" forms on websites are often abused by spammers. When these emails are sent to the another provider, our mail servers are being blacklisted as the source of the spam.

We do not wish to impose a blanket ban on all email forwarding to other providers, so we are asking that if your "contact us" forms send email that you pickup the email from a local mailbox.

If we do find that websites are sending emails by way of a forwarder to another provider, we will disable the forwarder so that the emails are delivered to the local mailbox.

We apologise for any inconvenience that this causes and hope to have email delivery to Yahoo and Microsoft hosted emails service soon.
